The 33rd annual Berkshire Hathaway Home Service's Salute to the USA in Harry A. Nottingham Park takes place on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 starting at 5:00 p.m.

We invite you to take part in the family friendly festivities going on throughout the park with face painters, fire jugglers, stilt walkers, balloon sculptors, magicians, and so much more! Hazel Miller Band will perform at 6 p.m. as an opening act for eight-time Grammy-winning reggae artist Ziggy Marley, who will take the stage at 8 p.m. Bring your blanket and enjoy festival style food favorites from fresh squeezed lemonade and funnel cakes to mini-donuts and roasted ears of corn. Relax and get ready for the most amazing fireworks display the State of Colorado has to offer - 10,000 shells explode in a pyrotechnic extravaganza of dazzling color and sound. You won't want to miss this hallmark event - Salute to the USA will quickly become a tradition in your family!

What's better than practicing open water swimming in Nottingham Lake? Running a 5k when you're done! Featuring a weekly 2.4 mile swim in addition to shorter distances, Dunk N' Dash  is the perfect way to train for your first (or thirtieth) triathlon. Now in its 15th season, hundreds of athletes have used this series as a launching ground for summer triathlon training. Just be sure to bring a wetsuit - the water can be chilly!

Nottingham Lake is back and better than ever this summer! The Avon Recreation Department provides the only open water swim in the valley. It's a perfect way to train for your first (or third) outdoor triathlon. Just be sure to bring a wetsuit - the water can be chilly!
  • Fee:$5 per person
  • Check-in at the Avon Performance Pavilion
  • Average water temp. is between 60 - 68 degrees, wet suits recommended
  • Must be 15 years of age with parental release
  • For your safety - lifeguard staff and distance buoys will be provided

Triple Bypass Finish Celebration | July 13 - 14

The Triple Bypass Bicycle Tour is a phenomenal 120-mile bicycle ride with over 10,000 feet of elevation gain. And yet, 3,500 riders dare it every year. It starts in Evergreen and climbs over Squaw Pass to Idaho Springs and on into Georgetown. From there, it climbs over Loveland Pass to Frisco and over Vail Pass to the finish line in Avon at Harry A. Nottingham Park. Returning in 2019, event organizers are once again hosting the Triple Bypass East and the Double Triple...yes, ride from Avon back to Evergreen the very next day!

Portland, Oregon-based March Fourth combines high-energy instrumental music with visual performances by stilt-walkers, acrobatics and hooping! The Beaver Creek XTERRA is part of XTERRA's Regional Point Series Schedule. The race will consist of a 1 km swim in Nottingham Lake, a 25 km mountain bike ride up and around Beaver Creek and an 8 km trail run on Beaver Creek Mountain.
