The Town of Avon has several beautiful parks for your enjoyment, with a diverse range of recreational opportunities. From the thrill of roaring rapids and whitewater features at Avon's Whitewater Park, to the peace and quiet of a sunset over Nottingham Lake, Avon's parks and fields are available for public and private use.
Town parks are maintained by highly trained grounds-maintenance technicians, using the most up-to-date practices and equipment. We strive to maintain first-class grass conditions on the upper field, lower field and softball field, and events are deliberately scheduled in such a way that allows time for the fields to recover.
All of the fields are available to rent based on availability. To check on availability or reserve an athletic field, contact the Recreation Services Superintendent at (970) 748-4053 and complete a Field Rental Form.
Anyone wishing to reserve the picnic space for parties with less than 50 people shall submit a picnic permit. Picnic permit applications must be submitted thirty (30) working days prior to the event. Approvals will be granted according to park availability and order of request. Please submit requests to Jamie Taylor.
These permits are issued to groups who need no special assistance from Town personnel other than securing the space. A $25 permit processing fee. A clean-up fee may be assessed if the facility is left in poor order. Please bring completed Picnic Permit Application to the Avon Recreation Center along with the permit processing fee.
Alcohol is not allowed in the park.
